March

You have to look close but we have a bunch of onions and garlic growing.
Here are the kids favorite Radishes.
Bridger and two wild turkeys in the background.
Our poor chicks want to come out so bad, but we have to watch them when they are out or hawks will try and take them. Our neighbor as lost 5 to hawks and owls.
I think this tree is a Dogwood. I am not sure but I think they are so pretty.
Bridger is my new amateur photographer. He made sure he captured Dotty in the background.
Rilynn is our egg girl. She is in charge of gathering our eggs everyday.
Logan berries and Raspberries. My logan berries came green and my raspberries came dormant.

DARCEE is 2!

Darcee is a BIG Dora fan. She loves map and backpack. Now she has her own.
My cute little happy riser. This is the look I got when I told her it was time to get ready for church.
Darcee was cheering for Maclain as he learned how to work the lawn mower.
Darcee was not sure of the fire on the cake at all, and everyone blew the candle out but her.
She did love eating it though. Happy Birthday!

New Grape plants...are alive!

It is so sad how fast kids grow up. It is hard to watch them grow and know they will never be that age again. Maclain is old enough to mow the lawn. He did a really good job.
There is a tree in our front yard that has these beautiful flowers. I love the purple points on each petal.
This is our happy new apple tree. All of our trees are getting leaves and are blooming.
I ordered grape plants and berry plants in the mail. I have been nervous because they are all bare root plants. However this is our new cranberry plant. I know it is super tiny but in 5 days it has already put inches of new growth on. When I planted it the all it had was the dark green, the lite green is all new growth.
Almost all of the grape plants are starting to put buds out. I am just so amazed I was not expecting these results after just 5 days.

Spring is here!

Darcee has a thing for flowers. She likes to put them in her hair. The boys laughed when she walked around the other day with 2 dandelions in her hair. I had to convince her not to touch these pretty flowers so that one day they could be peaches.
Spring has come to Kentucky. Complete with storms and all. I wish I could have captured the clouds in the background better. The light on the big grey billows was really pretty. So far all 27 of our fruit trees seem to be doing well.

Kids + Chickens = Silly

Darcee and 2 Ancona chicks. She had a great time chasing and catching the chicks. We let them wander for awhile before we put them into their new home. Surprisingly enough she can catch them by herself, and they let her pack them around.
Rilynn is our total chicken girl. She loves all the chickens. She took several chicks on tours around the yard and just showed them everything. She told me she was introducing them to the world. She is holding a black australorp.
Boys....go figure. I told them if they got pooped on that they would get no sympathy from me only laughter. No one got pooped on. Maclain has a speckled sussex on his head.
Bridger walked around like this for awhile. The little barred rock seemed to like walking with him.

New Chicks

Our new chicks lived in our garage until they could fly out of their boundaries. So we moved them down the hill to the chicken coop. They have to stay in the coop for another two weeks then they will be big enough to not pop through our fence.
These are two of our Araucana chicks. I love the speckles that are showing up on her feathers.
This photo shows the variety of different chicks that we have. Each of us chose a different breed that we wanted as a test to find out the breed of chicken we like the best.
The kids have named this chick Polly because of her beak. The photo doesn't do it justice.
This is Boots our only chicken with feathered feet. The way this chick has feathered out is strange. It has more feathers on it's feet than anywhere else you can't see but her back is still fluff unlike the other chicks.
