2 houses...3 kids....and 9 years later....

Nine years ago I fell in love with Alex and his big beautiful smile, and nine years later that same beautiful smile still makes my heart melt. Looking back at the last nine years it seems to have flown by, and yet when I say nine years that seems like a long time to me. I know this post is not really on our Anniversary, but June 6th wasn't that long ago, and I am following the typical blog tradition. I saved this picture of him to post for our Ann. because it shows so clearly the happiness he radiates.

Alex Happy Anniversary I love you and I can't wait to add many more to Nine.

Maclain's Birthday

In our house starting when you turn five, we have a friend party every other year. Maclain turned seven this year and he gave up his friend party if we would go camping. So of course we went camping. So for Memorial Day weekend we went up to Smith and Moore house. We had lots of fun, and Maclain thought it was so awsome to catch his first fish on his birthday. We relaxed, fished, had smores, road in the back of a truck, played in a little stream, fed some birds, watched chipmunks, and just plain had lots of fun. Happy Birthday Maclain.....where do the years go? I can't believe you are seven already.

A new Park

I am the girls camp director and because Alex loves me so much he went to a park near our home and created an orienteering course for me to take the girls on. It turned out well, especially since the girls had about zero experience using a compass. While we arranged the course, and whie we had the activity our kids had loads of fun playing at a park they had never been to before.

Air Force Museum

Alex was gone to some training for two months, and the one thing our kids wanted to do as a family when he got home was go to the Air Force Museum. It's pretty sad we have never taken them before since it is free, and all of 5 minutes from our house.
Maclain got the most our of seeing all of the different types of air craft. Bridger and Rilynn really like climbing over and around the ropes the best.

However they did enjoy the GIANT airplane tire.

The Park

We went to Maclain's Soccor game, and there happens to be a small play ground near so we let Bridger and Rilynn play while we watch the game. I ended up catching Bridger jumping off the dino's head. I thought the picture was so cool, because I was not very close to the park at all, so the fact I caught him in midair was cool, but I wished his hands were all the way in the picture, so I told him to do it again, this time I was ready........
This is what he did. Yes, his hands are in the photo but, it's not quite what I had in mind.

Maclain has the best goalie stance. He is always ready for the ball.

Just watching kids when they don't know they are being watched is too cute. Sometimes they do the cutest things, and other times, you never know what they will do.

Boys and Girls

There is a difference between the creative makeup inside the boy vs girl mind. However girls influenced by this boy creativity don't know the same boundaries. This is Rilynn who was at her brothers side when he learned the car lesson, happy as can be brushing grandma's cat.
Then after watching her brothers decides it looks like a great idea to join them. Not such a good idea for a two year old to try. However her brother was happy to oblige. This picture is way blurry because as I see what's happening I put an end to the taking of the little sister down the driveway on a skateboard.

Skateboarders

We do not recomend you try this at home if you live on a busy street, because if the angle of the driveway is right, you will end up in the road.....or on your face, as you try to turn.
It takes great concentration to roll down a driveway on a skateboard.

This was the new adventure after learning climbing on cars is not such a good idea. Same day, different house, but the same devious mind.

Sorry for the very blurry picture, but I couldn't help but post it for the awsome teamwork going on, oh and the crazy tongue hanging out. As they pursued this wild adventure my parents and I just stood back and laughed the whole time. I am lucky I even got pictures because my battery was so dead the camera yelled at me every picture because it didn't want to use the flash it had no juice left hence the blurry images.

If you look close at their faces, Bridger is having the time of his life and Maclain is trying to save him from sudden injury.
